Marilyn Minter has produced two mural-scaled wallpapers with Maharam Digital Projects, a division of the prolific textile company Maharam. These two-dimensional environmentals represent not only a dynamic collaboration between commerce and culture but also the democratization of high art.
The image for Marilyn Minter’s Kicksilver wallpaper is based on a composite photograph that shows a models fabulous stiletto splashing in a puddle of silver-tinted vodka. Goldkicker shifts away from hyperrealism toward kinetic and textural abstraction. Both wallpapers are part of an ongoing exploration into the pathology of glamour.
The wallpapers are available for individual purchase. The wallpaper has a matte laminate finish, each installation is sized, priced and produced on a project-specific basis.
